I lived in the city for nearly 20 years. now I've lived in the country for close to 10 and whenever I go back to the city I cannot believe people live like this.

I'm struggling to scrape off any redeeming qualities that aren't immediately offset by some glaring drawback.

This is voluntary institutionalism. I can no longer understand the appeal.

Perhaps charter cities and network state enclaves will start to get their shit together? Because we need some kind of density-driven engines for advancement - but damn this ain't it....

nyc survives because of its food culture, this is my opinion and i will die on this hill

You're not wrong.

..but then you try to go to a restaurant and you can't get a fucking table anywhere so you wander around for an hour and end up at a random place (that's still better than most places outside the city but still.)

The rate time you do get into a good place you're surrounded by fucktards and the experience is frustrating.

I love when Jerry does bits about fucktards in his act

Sex & the City mindset 😅

I think some people live there just to see Madonna sometimes.
