The grading system in schools is one of the biggest problems in this regard; it conditions people into thinking that you have to always get good grades and never slip up in order to achieve anything, effectively turning us into paper-pushing machines. Mastery and understanding (which come from doing and failing) should be focused on rather than a numerical abstraction of what we think knowledge is. We should embrace failure as something to bounce back and learn from, not as something we need to avoid.
The attitude towards people not succeeding at a business start up in Europe is what holds the entire continent back. That’s one thing that stands out in USA. Lack of judgement of people losing at times is important for people to challenge themselves, lose, learn and just go for it again with greater knowledge

I learned this playing sports: You can lose a million times and blame everything and everyone but yourself, or even being too hard on yourself but failing to appreciate the learning experience. Embrace errors and action. Just like kids do, when they are not put down by adults.
