I should buy an extra The Bitcoin Standard book and put it in there...

It's your duty.

Next time I see one, I'll do that.

Great idea!

There's like 6 of these on a 2block radius around me

My town has several of these. Over the two years I've watched a few of them transition into food pantries.

My block has one on the opposite side from my house. The block east has one, the block west has 2 on 2 different sides of the block,

They're everywhere here.

People started putting DVDs in there and I even found a geocache once 🀣

The Book Of Satoshi: The Collected Writings of Bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto by Phil Champagne

Oh man, we have a bunch of those around town. I should absolutely do something like that.

I also have a bunch of extra copies of "economics in one lesson" from the Mises Institute that I got a while back. I could start peppering those around as well.

Coincidentally dropped two copies of that off in one down the street from me over the summer. Plus Anatomy of the State and the Anarch-Capitalist Manifesto.

Maybe even add a Nostr referral link on a QR code via Prism and get them some sats?

πŸ€” mmmm now your thinking.

Cool. This is yours?

It is not. Neighbors.

It’s crying out for a Bitcoin sticker to go with the word free. Or a QR code to the book

I hope you do and I hope it's the first book to go. Because hey, Bitcoin is hope.

Check your local library to see what Bitcoin books they have. Either request them or offer to donate them for circulation. You may even get a little plaque in the book saying you donated it.

You mentioned something like this before. I haven't been in my library since high school πŸ‘€ Katie took the kids a few times. I will do this.

Check online, they normally have a request page. If you do pop in, librarians do love to be of assistance in my experience. My local library has some programs that go beyond books. Like seasonal cookie cutter lending and a tool library.

I used to just add books to their returned stack. No need for plaques or someone to approve the donation.

In my city there are many of these things...good idea!

Let’s put the Bitcoin Whitepaper in all of these

While that sounds cool, it's a bit technical for most people.

Broken Money too

😍πŸ”₯

I did that a couple a years ago and it was gone the next day. I was shocked.

Noooo. Way better books

I put "Kicking the Hornet's Nest" (all of Satoshi's words) in one on October 31. https://hive.blog/@crrdlx/satoshi

Just realized my local suburb has a Communal Library too. I shall do the same!

I have one of these on my regular route that I walk my dog in the morning. It's so cool! I stop and look at least a couple times a week. It's amazing how popular it is and how often the inventory changes.

I've scored a couple of great classics from it.

It's definitely a great idea to drop in some Bitcoin stuff. I bet it'll disappear quick.
