Mining coal seems very dumb when we know how to make nuclear powerplants
Discussion
The fact the EU is turning off nuclear is so fucking stupid🤣🤣🤣
The renewables industry can’t take off if nuclear is an option.
renewables don’t work 24/7 though, they’re retards because they’re removing nuclear(0 carbon backup option when wind or solar aren’t generating) just for politics then the backup option is going to be coal again 💀
Along with pushing power storage technologies that rely heavily on questionable (at best) labor practices in cobalt rich African countries.
Yep, another great point. Then they tell the same African countries they can’t use non renewables to advance the economy and become “first world countries”(I don’t like that term) when the current “first world countries” did that and they’re the ones who fucked up the atmosphere 🤣🤣🤣
Yep. I’d love to see some data comparing how many people die from unreliable power vs climate catastrophes in any given 12 month period.
The thing is they’re so politically invested that they don’t care what happens, coal will be outright banned in the EU, even when nuclear is gone, and they will be happy with power outages when solar and wind aren’t performing just to say “we invested in renewable energy this is what you get”
Mfer Pritzker stopped Illinois from building/upkeep on nuclear power plants fucking stupid asshole politician
We know how to make them but they only have return on investment after >20 years and require a ton of investment and highly specialized manpower.
Unfortunately, practically only States have resources to pull it off.
Mining coal IS dumb.
Nuclear is 3x more expensive than wind solar.
1 in 150 nuclear power plants blows up 👍
1 in 150 power plants built between 1950-1970 blow up. What if we had been innovating this whole time?
Wind and solar only work when the wind blows or the sun shines, obviously it's cheaper because it's complete garbage. Can't build a civilization that only works when it's windy, that's retarded
I didn’t specify a specific time frame however , are you forgetting #Fukashima 2015 ? Where all 4 reactors blew up ? Still rumbling on 8 years later. Who’s paying for all that ? Not the nuclear power industry.
With a 300mile #EV range I can quite happily wait for the wind to blow or sun to shine. Also you could power your house for a fortnight from a Ford F150 Lightning. Just plug the house in to the car.
I guarantee you solar + storage becomes viable in the next 100yrs, whereas uranium could be depleted in the same timeframe.
I'd rather adopt the free energy & innovate away on top of the baselayer energy of our planet.
Coal is a boon to civilization. Besides cheap reliable energy, and local jobs, our cozy & warm 21st century lives rely on coal byproducts.
The reason why nuclear plants are red-tape bureaucratized to not exist is that imperfect humans impose short sighted rules restricting energy freedom.
The only way humanity progresses on the Kardashev scale is to remove red tape, and allow energy freedom for folks to pursue all abundant, cheap, reliable electricity sources. This means coal, and nuclear!
