When you talk to yourself, who's listening?
Discussion
It depends. Am I talking to myself with a megaphone? Or on social media, a podcast, the radio?
Well, who am I kiddingโฆ nobody. Nobody is the answer, not even me, lol.
Some people don't have an inner voice.
My psychologist
My assigned federal agent who probably tapped my phone ๐
Sometimes there's a group listening if the material is fire. Young recruits get to witness extraordinary cases first hand.
They take notes for the coveted future undercover missions
Same, mine is called Dave ๐
It's his weekend off, so I've got nobody to talk to ๐ฅน
Mine might be on nostr. Not sure yet ๐
Youโll have lots of stories to tell him on Monday
I sure will ๐
Going to the village pub this evening to find out if my recent Bitcoin propaganda across village WhatsApp groups has worked ๐
If the propaganda worked well, maybe Dave will be there, undercover to say a quick hi ๐คฃ
I hope he is, he works behind the bar at my local at the weekends, which is why he's not available to listen to my inner thoughts.
2 jobs for your assigned federal agent? Times are rough at the agency! Wow. Probably all those DOGE cutbacks.
Must be hard for Dave ๐ฅฒ
Waitโฆ I thought village WhatsApp groups were for people who hear strange noises in the night or need to know what shops are open on public holidays?
Did you just try to upscale your village chat? ๐
This and pink socks?! Thereโs only so much change one village can take Mike!
When you talk to yourself, philosophically speaking:
You confirm your own existence (Descartes).
You relate to yourself as a self (Kierkegaard).
You engage in a dialectic seeking truth (Hegel).
You witness a stream of consciousness with no fixed "I" (Buddhism).
You hear multiple inner voices in dialogue (Nietzsche).
An alternative view;
Why do you need to talk to yourself, don't you already know?
Always I talk to myself but only my brain listen to words not ears๐
All of them
