Here after 5 days of no social media. I am moisturized, in my lane, oiled and everything.

Perhaps I can keep using Nostr and just cut out other social media for sanity. But I want to follow Marc Andreesson, Bryan Johnson, Balaji, etc. What do I do?

Reduce, reuse, recycle.

In other words, minimize the amount of people you follow on non-Nostr networks.

Maintain those channels but consider removing them from home screens or bookmarks to encourage a mental commitment to using those applications.

Try tagging those people in some posts, or commenting on their posts, and perhaps they will also find a reason to use Nostr.

Yep. I only follow a small list of people on other social media platforms.

rethink your choices those are all shitcoiners

Even if they are shitcoiners, I don't believe they are, it is detrimental for us to not listen to the other side of the argument. We don't want echo chambers. Trolls are different, you can mute them, but these people are not trolls.

I guess we have different definitions of trolls 😅

what *is* the argument do you think?

Anything that doesn't align with your values. if you consider smart contract chains to be useless and you don't hear any arguments that challenge your beliefs, that is probably not good for you. You're essentially censoring them on a personal level and encouraging your peers to censor them on a social level.

Note that the Left used to censor the Right leaning people on Twitter on a platform level. You can't do that on Nostr.

Trolls are people that simply make an argument just to annoy you. You can technically make an argument that Earth is flat with clever reasoning. You can then go on making the same argument to all related and unrelated notes by someone who doesn't believe in your argument. That is trolling. I prefer muting them on a personal and social level.

Plus, I like and follow Robert Breedlove as well. Robert also had a 6 episode marathon with Balaji. Just because you don't know those characters well, its not good to label them as shitcoiners.

sorry but everyone is a shitcoiner to varying degrees, its a no true scotsman situation lol

That includes you I guess. Ahaha

Anyway. Its your choice to not follow those people. I find them very insightful so I follow them. To each his own amount of shitcoin sandwich.

Why do you want to follow them?

Because I believe in Network States as the next revolution that might solve the problems with the Nation States we see today. - Balaji

Longevity is a vital research field that will help humanity a lot. Imagine Einstein like individuals being able to stay alive and help build nuclear fusion plants. - Bryan Johnson

American politics teaches us a lot of things. Its at the forefront of new technologies like AI and crypto, and it is very helpful to keep ourselves updated about what's happening there. And Marc tweets with perspectives that align with mine. - Marc Andreeson

Elon Musk himself and the exploration of space tech, neuralink, and cars.

I would never miss any of this even though there are a lot of things I'd change in Twitter. I have to go through various posts to sometimes find good content on Twitter but its still worth it.

And a bit of social media addiction on top of all this. Well...
