Thatβs a sweet story ππ«‘ times were so different. I was never smart enough to keep master copies but I made some sick mixtapes back in the day. Iβd splice in songs from the radio even. Analog dayz.
I had this as a bootleg tape in the late 90's, obtained through a friend of a friend. I kept a "master" copy stored away, while I would listen to copies I had dubbed, lest it be eaten and I would lose it forever.
One of the last live performances by Nirvana. I've listened to this so many times every note is tattooed onto my brain. Enjoy πΆπ

It's a different world π―π«‘ I remember using Scotch tape to mend eaten mixtapes that I loved to listen to.
My dad was making mix cassettes in the marines in the late 70βs. I was still doing it in middle school in the mid 90s. Rate of change going parabolic now π
Those were the days. Renting CDβs to turn them into mix tapes. Crafting my own cover art, so much fun and dedication compared to pressing play on Spotify.
Every time someone got a new album it was time to make copies π I remember my father having get togethers where friends & family would bring albums over, and everyone would leave with new mix tapes.

In high school there were these hiphop mixtapes going around. They were made from 12β records from Fat Beats that nobody could afford, but we all got to hear these new tracks coming out in the 90βs this way.
To this day, Iβll hear one of those songs and expect a certain other song to be mixed in because I listened to those mix tapes so much π₯
