While the world is discussing how to make CO2 emissions inclusive and gender-neutral, a huge landfill is on fire in Kuwait. The landfill contains about fifty million car tires. The fire has been burning for a week, with flames covering over 25 thousand square meters - visible even from space. Tons of toxic, carcinogenic chemicals such as benzene, xylene, ethylene, and acetone have been released into the atmosphere.

The tire landfill in Kuwait is about 30 years old, and tires are brought there from all over the world, but mostly from the US and Europe (surprise motherf**rs 😂). The last major fire occurred in 2012. It took over a month to extinguish.

👀 Holy maccaroni

It’s fine, they’ve got carbon credits.

It's all a game to some

Video looks fake tho

This happened in 2021. There was a smaller scale fire more recently which has now been extinguished. Either way, not good.

Sauce?

Found the source and posted an update. The video is outdated. There was a smaller scale fire a few years ago that has now been extinguished. Thanks!

Dude, this was 2 years ago…

Posted an update. Thanks!
