So you think Bitcoin is freedom, bitcoin is private or saves your privacy?

What about when you pay or get paid the cashier at the store would write wown all banknotes serial numbers when you pay? Or the postman write down the bank notes serials? Of course with your name, address, the date of payment, and so on?

Bitcoin does. Precisely the miners does with the blocks on blockchain. Even every transaction contains the IP address too (it is not necessary but the protocol defined that). So your transactions contains much more data than you think (on the mempool too, before it is mined).

Bitcoin transatcions needs an internet connection, otherwise it cannot be mined. Your transaction is linked to your actual IP address, IP address is linked to your computers/mobiles MAC address, even if you use mobile, also the IMEI is linked. And the IP is linked to your location too.

Conclusion: you, and your bitcoin transactions can be traced, everywhere, everytime. Including zaps.

Again: is bitcoin means freedom? Is it means privacy?

In regards to bitcoin and Nostr, please not the difference between autonomy vs privacy!!! Bitcoin and Nostr are far from private.

You are right! Good aspect. But what about autonomy? I'm interested in ylur opinion

Always need to worry even with bitcoin or nostr. Use VPN and don't dox yourself. Personally I am more terrified about the current banking system and CBDCs coming soon. As a foreigner living in Japan I have seen the Japanese banks bend over backwards for US regulations.

Right! I vomit if I hear th word CBDC 🤮

This is an experiment to get the state back the control for the money issuing.

But implementing the CBDC ks difficult and can destroy the two level banking system.

But yku can worry about that the bank (and the IRS or similar omstitutes can track every coim you spend or get paid)

Si Bitckin Eclsystem is good to het back your autonomy (but I want to get back my privacy too).

But! The Bitcoin Ecosystem itself is not enough for tor this without additional "tools" e.g. VPN (you have to paid for really secure ones) an TOR. For privacy you must have degoogled phone, Linux instead of Windows, do not use Google Play, protonmail or tutanota instead gmail, hotmail, apple mail and so one.

The Monero and zero knowledge systems are good, but the client infra is too "poor" as you mentioned.

The degooglization is a hard one for me, but hopefully in the near future my Umbrel will replace all their functions. Also looking into getting a Linux cellphone for my next phone. Do you have one? I am concerned it won't be Japan compatible.

Yes I use degoogled, custom rom phones for years. It is worth to buy an older one (if you make a brick from it, you can simply throw it to the trashbin 😁). But if ylu have some routine, you could try a most modern phone. But you have to choose carefully. So befire you decide, read through the Lineage webpage (or other custom rom's webpage).

The Linux phones IMHO not soo good (but the Android is a kind of Linux, so I mean the other Linux distributioms for phone).

For Umbrel hardware I wont pay, I have all the software as I wanted. But if you not an IT advanced user or pro, you could use it (most of them unnecessary for an average user)

I might need more of your help in the future, to untangle myself from the deep state's internet tentacles.

Ok, don't hesitate to contact me. If you want drop me a DM

Have you heard of our lord and savior protonvpn? What about his begotten son, wasabi wallet?

I have a pro subscription to protonvpn. And I also use tor. But when you zaps I don't think you always (!) use both of them, never forget to use it. It is enough if you forget it only one time. But the IP address is only one thing. But if you can buy something for fiat, or use crylto exchange, you have to use KYC (but here some scammer promotes that you must not).

Even if you use higher amount of electricity, or your internet traffic belongs to some specified IP (minimg pool), you are suspected.

You have to be an advanced user or IT professional to completely hide yourself. Most of the users are not this kind.

As a privacy and IT security pro I have heard about the mentioned tools of course. And I use them (and another tools).

BTW: if you use XMR (as a shitcoin 😁) it is a better way to hold your private live.

Hey I'll be honest, I don't hold the negativity towards monero that many others seem to, I don't know enough about it so I can't support it outright, but I'm for things like atomic swaps etc. That said, the issues generally raised in this regard seem like front-end UI issues, bitcoin wallets are notoriously underfunded projects that don't get the resources necessary to implement hardcore privacy in a way the average user can adopt. As for KYC businesses, I can only hope that the growth of p2p marketplaces like civkit can give you a way to reliably trade bitcoin directly for goods and services with like minded individuals; it will take time for that stuff to build out.

I run my own node so the source ip is 127.0.0.1. Good luck tracking that. As far as privacy of addresses, that’s what layer 2 is for
