ok sorry, but no.

"people are saying" fud is horseshit.

one, Monero supply is audited all the fucking time.

tell me the last time you audited the BITCOIN supply. and I dont mean lazily ran gettxsetoutinfo on your node

two, there is nothing "sus" about monero privacy guarantees. Sender receiver and amount are hidden using well understood cryptographic fundamentals.

there are edge cases where your privacy can be compromised.

like literally *every other privacy tool.*

if you have some criticism, show your work or GTFO.

oh and three, "Fluffy was detained by the feds one time"

tell me you don't understand open source software without telling me you dont understand open source software.

this is up there with "Bitcoin was created by the CIA" fud.

do better.

Do better? At what?

running his mouth about things he doesn't understand.

You meditate?

everyday.

its a common misconception that people who do yoga and meditate are passive.

my lineage is more "stfu or speak clearly"

You seem angry though. Are you angry?

its easier to be abrupt on social media than to add all the extra words that make people feel good about what you're saying.

but you're also right and I could've been nicer 🤭

He's right that I was going off second hand information regarding the fed rumors. I have watched videos about how to track XMR transactions, but that's not my area of expertise. And yes the supply is infinite.

Im always open to learning new things, but I don't feel any desire to argue.

Price communicates more than words.

"fiat price is what's really important"

here's the video about how to track XMR transactions

straight from Chainanalysis

it makes their current capabilities very clear.

Thank you.

towards the 35 minute mark it gets more spicy. up to then it's almost like a monero commercial.

tldr is that they need lots of offchain information to eliminate the decoys in ring signatures

That's way above my head. I have been in bitcoin for 7 years now. But I have never been very technical.

its an ongoing thing of course

i have the advantage of being an long time tech guy.

basically

in contrast to Bitcoin where you have a single sender that's obvious on-chain,

in monero the true spender is hidden among 15 other decoys.

that "ring" of addresses sign the transaction and its impossible to tell which of those 16 is the real spend.

originally developed for Bitcoin btw,

but never implemented, like lots of monero tech.

theres more nuance (like ways CA can maybe eliminate some of the decoys etc) but thats the basic idea.

Perhaps you know more about this topic than I do. That's fine with me.

There are other ways to communicate.

you could say "i dont know but ive heard people say"

instead of just repeating stuff you heard somewhere as if it was factual

so you also made a decision about a way to communicate.
