Wlecome to the EU Gulag!

We're essentially witnessing dystopian surveillance on a whole new level. It's disheartening to see how easily people comply with such measures. This feels like a backdoor introduction to digital IDs, where your face scan becomes a requirement for logging in or accessing services. If the government deems you unworthy, you'll be locked out.

However, there's still hope for those who value real freedom. Thanks to #Bitcoin and #Nostr you can to opt out of these anti-human systems.

To all the Europeans who feel trapped, I urge you to take a stand. Ditch the regulated platforms and reclaim your autonomy. It's time to 'man up' and fight for your freedom!

Fuck this dystopia

Proving who you are is not the problem.

Abuse by government, organizations etc is the risk.

Not knowing where or who you send a Bitcoin payment to is a risk.

So I only rely on personal LN payments and an occasional on chain payment with known parties.

I'm in favor of less government and local communities.

Perhaps that is the only way forward and in that case you always interact with someone in person also when you make an onchain payment ?

It seems like an unsolved dilemma where you want payments to be anonymous, but on the other hand you want to know to whom you are sending money?

Unless you only interact with known individuals or a trusted intermediate.

Why should I care whom I send my money? We trade, you send me a ln invoice or onchain address and I pay you. I don't need to now your whole personal history for that. #Bitcoin is based on truth and instant settlement so no need to trust/verify your Identity.

Untill you buy something online, as sample.

Exactly as I described you don't need it when you do personal transactions.

So do you ask Amazon / Bezos to give you his personal records? You don't because his companies reputation is always at stake.

But how exactly does Bitcoin and Nostr support you in that? How do you eventually catch the train, buy groceries, use hospital services?

Agreed
