Mars colonization might be an important civilizational goal for humanity, but Musk (Vivian) is right in pointing out that it's not likely to be achieved on any timescale that makes sense for SpaceX's market valuation.

By the way, I think the whole Mars thing is stupid. Our cellular bio-clocks probably won't work there. They are set to a 24 hour cycle. If I recall, Mars' rotation is two to three hours different than ours, which will eventually kill most people.

Yes, I agree. The Mars thing is stupid. It's not just due to what you mentioned but also the risks that arise from its increased radiation exposure, thin atmosphere, low gravity issues, and the insane economic costs it would take to reach the planet AND colonize it. It just seems like a waste of time, atm. Honestly, I don't even think we'll be alive to see that.

I certainly understand why you think it's disrespectful for her to lash out at him, which it is. A child should know better, but that's also his fault for not spending enough time with his children and teaching them how to respect their parents. Being present, emotionally caring, showing your kids the right amount of love, and being supportive is far more important than money. I've seen this happen too many times with wealthy families. The mother or the father or both are hardly present, and when they are, they're almost completely emotionally closed off. Then the kids grow up to be completely morally bankrupt people, or drug addicts, or alcoholics or something. It always ends up a mess😮💨. You should also never let your kids find out about your other siblings through social media, like he has; that's just... wrong. So, back to you're original point about her lashing out. She clearly doesn't give a shit about living on his dime, she just wants a loving father that's more present in her life. Money can't replace a loving parent.
Elon certainly has been careless when it comes to having children and what their families look like. I would never endorse his lifestyle. What's sad is that she feels she has no path to healing and finding herself without publicly airing her grievances as though strangers can change her situation in some way.

I'll struggle to take Elon Musk seriously on Mars colonization or space travel in general until he at least acknowledges the issues that constant nnEMF, lack of the daylight spectrum as experienced on earth, and other issues of the human body's interaction with extraterrestrial radiation could quickly sterilize, sicken, and kill off any long term attempts.
I'm otherwise excited about the concept of space travel, but it needs to be done right and I'm not seeing that.

Remember when SpaceX first launched? I do. At the time, Elon's promise was to go out and mine asteroids. They were going to go get a quadrillion dollars in gold or something ridiculous like that.
It was clearly fake and gay. But people fell for it. And when he failed to deliver, he launched a car into space as a publicity stunt.
If you look closely at his track record, Musk doesn't often deliver on anything substantial. Until starlink, the only thing he had produced as promised was that flamethrower.
Elon is not a man, he is a product / brand. The individual you see on the TV is simply the front for a much larger operation.
