What are the tradeoffs between Casa, Nunchuk, and Unchained for their Bitcoin multisig vaults and inheritance products? #asknostr #bitcoin

Terry! I need a dev!

I used to use Casa, but I switched to Nunchuk because their mobile wallet is vastly superior. Nunchuk allows you to have more granular control over your setup whereas Casa gives you a simpler product that just works. Casa also deals in shitcoins now.

I haven't used unchained, but I've only heard good things about them. I also haven't messed with inheritance plans at all. I remember hearing the guy who was building the inheritance product at Unchained talking about it on a podcast, and he seemed very knowledgeable about it. They work hard to make sure the legal aspects are all ironed out as well.

I think it was this one.

unchained seems legit. not cheap

Unchained (prob best but most expensive)

Nunchuk (need to learn more)

casa (heard some issues with them but still fine)

Think of the following: You store your stack on a 3-of-5 (of 7-of-12 or n-of-m) multi-sig. You choose multiple signing devices (Coldcard, Bitbox, Jade, Trezor, perhaps even a Ledger 😬 ). You write it all down for your heirs, meet a guru who convinces you to change your life, and retire to a Buddhist monastery. Twenty years later, your heirs call you M.P.D. and attempt to recover the Bitcoin. 1 BTC is 1.5 million USD by now, and fees are 1000 USD for a simple single-sig one-utxo input transaction. Ledger has been liquidated, and Trezor has been sold to Microsoft (now requires full KYC/AML background check). All devices require firmware upgrades. Handwriting everything your heirs need to recover the funds is a great exercise. If you can't write it, they can execute it. This simple exercise made me simplify my setup.

Nunchuk publish no source for their iOS app. In case they somehow cross compile the Kotlin Android app they should at least mention that.

Multi sig is for pussies

Never looked at casa since it’s not ₿-only.

Heard great things about Unchained if you need a helping hand.

Nunchuk is mobile friendly and their team is legendary:
