No good replacement for the photos app yet. Nextcloud ain’t quite there yet
check out ente. it’s an open source alternative to apple/google photos. i briefly checked it out recently and it’s quite impressive. i think im gonna switch over soon
I bought a lifetime pcloud account years ago and have been fairly happy with it. I also bought the crypto option for a lifetime... I think it's paid itself off already and I've had no issue. If I had a second reliable machine, I would possibly just do Syncthing.
