Is anyone really surprised that a system requiring theft (inflation) at its base layer….has theft throughout it?

Proper use of tense.

no surprise whatsoever.

Game recognizes game

Or that they'd be resistant (even to the point of systemic suicide) to a system that is antithetical to (at least their mode of) theft?

We must tell the others!

🤣👍✨

Crazy how rot spreads when the foundation is moldy

I think some people might be sadly, but there won’t be any more loving forward that’s for sure.

Hey nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe what are your thoughts on federal income tax?

I think states and countries will compete on an honest ledger and citizens will choose and move to where/what they value. In other words, competition in a free market will reduce/eliminate them over time.

Be interested to see if you change your mind about BC. I love it here. Best place on earth in my ‘current’ opinion.

Hello Jeff,

What do you think about Monero?

Thanks.

No not at all

100%

That people are surprised about how corrupted they've been (& continue to be) is what's surprising to me.

People who have benefitted from the system as is, will forever see it as benevolently clumsy government, trying to its best, just not efficiently... They will forever defend the abuser.

When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed.

Ayn Rand

Inflation and taxes and tariffs are all theft of different kinds.

At the base layer of "society"?

In no way is it representing a civilisised society. It means we are barbarians lacking the communicational skills of organising in a voluntary/consensual way.

I refuse to accept this. Which ironically makes me an enemy of the current system.

Not surprised. Still angry, though.

Not only does it require theft, it IS theft. Fractional reserve banking reminds me of the anti-free-speech laws in effect in many European countries. You are essentially required to believe (or feign belief) in something that is manifestly not true: Your deposits are simultaneously "lent out" and also "still there in your account" at the same time.

No not all surprising yet very refreshing to begin to see it come to the light of day!!

No. What’s surprising is that this knowledge is not widespread, and that this system just keeps on going indefinitely.

No

theft and murder.

Everybody as you say is still just turning back to the system and giving it strength. Steady as she goes one mind at a time.

Many such analogies. 🎯

No one who read your book is surprised!

Right? 🤷

There are three types of people. Those who aren't surprised, those who have no clue or interest in what you're talking about, and the those who benefit from the theft and support it. The vast majority are the second type.

"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it."

-Frédéric Bastiat

There are so many magnificent Bastiat quotes.

Been thinking about this a lot lately. Must be tax season 🤣🫠

on another point - what about taxes? if i buy bitcoin and send it on lightning network in exchange for a good or service am i taxed on the amount of capitol gains just the same as i would be if i swapped to another currency? i suppose crypto tax software figures that out for you.
