Speech that orders violence, such as a general telling his soldiers who and when to kill, is close enough to violence.

But all other speech is just speech. It doesn't compel violence. Even if acting upon the speech would be violent, the speech itself isn't.

One might suggest that arguing in support of Israel genociding all Palestinians is violence. But even as such a genocide clearly is, speech in favor of it is just expression of desire and thought. The difference is that the speech CARRIES NO FORCE OF ACTION. And we all benefit from very clear lines in this respect, else our ability to talk about things will be severely curtailed. Even promoting the assassination of Charlie Kirk and then celebrating it afterwards... that too is just speech. The violence was the gun shot.

And frankly, I prefer for assholes to open their mouths and show us who they are. I want us all to be able to talk about despicable thoughts, so that maybe we can head them off before they cause actions.

As for violent retaliation against actual violence (not speech), that is a very touchy and complex game theoretic landscape. In civil countries the best course of action, clearly, is to leave violence to the law enforcement people, and if you are motivated, help them find the perps. I know a lot of Libertarians are super anti-government, but when there is an effective monopoly on violence that isn't behaving horribly, it is better to work with them, even if idealistically you think things should be different. Even places like the UK where they are arresting people for jokes, it is better at this point to work with law enforcement and just put up with the violation of your freedom and rights. All other paths are orders of magnitude worse. It would take quite a lot more than that to inspire me to start thinking about anti-government violence. Maybe I'm pacified by peaceful New Zealand, but also I'm more tolerant of injustices to myself as I get older.

As for uncivilized places, the problem is much more complex. But before you think about joining or forming a violent gang to protect your family, go watch The Godfather movies.

yes but protection services of the ancaps are hardly violent gangs and UK police hardly works. If your government locks you down and injects you like sheep you arent free. Many think the state does things buts its really the market at work. free and voluntary exchanges win in a free market but the state must lie steal cheat and kill to maintain market share. You are right to say resisting tyranny is not violence.

im thinking more lately that state sponsored terrorist actors are being used to prop up a genocidal surveilance state. Yes but outside of that, if there is an outside of that, its better. lets promote the outside of that.

he is definitely the fabian socialists hero of DEI:

never forget this satire shows he is incredibly courageous to showmanship enforce social conformity luxury beliefs of the elities. Now bad ideas will be branded by him for centuries to come. AOC jetsetted and sassed but Kier rises to a new level of inefficiency!

Vibe coding could be as transformative as steam power, and it's unleashing a gold rush where the space of prospecting is ideas.

Let's talk about idea men. An "idea man" is a pejorative, implying someone who only has ideas, they never get off the ground, they're stuck dreaming, and even living in those dreams without caring enough to bring them to fruition. Imagine you're someone in the 1800s who dreams of running a large textile factory but there just isn't the power nearby to run the mill. No powerful rivers, no steady winds. Steam power comes in to the picture and turns a power problem into a much smaller more manageable people problem.

Vibe coding lowers the cost of coding which is a lot like increasing humanity's coding power. Now idea men who couldn't see coding their own prototype from scratch or hiring a bunch of devs and pitching the venture capital can literally type their idea into a tool like Shakespeare. They can go through revisions in hours rather than weeks and months. They now have the power to address market needs in a day..

Often I've felt like an idea man. I keep a lot of them around and always come up with new ones, but I've had too many interests to give each idea the time it needed in the pre-vibe-coding era. A few days with Shakespeare is like installing a big new steam power plant. Now each idea isn't a burden, it's an opportunity. Which leads me to ask the community....

What do you want to see? If idea people are now empowered, bring out your best armchair coding ideas and let's talk about them. Doesn't take more than a motion and a second to try an idea out. Everyone has used better and worse apps. What is something in an app, any app that you use now that could take a better form that you saw before?

I'm posting this on Nostr and Nostr only but if this is such a transformative force then we should think bigger. There are billions out there dying to use what we come up with here, and by instilling out values of decentralization, freedom, and self-sovereignty we can do more with our apps than 1,000 protests and campaigns. What do you say? #vibestr

explain to me vibe coding is this a platform for iterative coding on nostr or a crowdsourced software development or AI coding tool or what?

i like alan debotton on this. he says wisdom consists partly in understanding regret is part of the human experience and will not be solved enitirely by making "the perfect choices" similar to this is nostalgia. understand outselves and our emotions should lead to us enjoying and rembering and striving for superior pleasures as aristole teaches in the nicomeanean ethics. but suffering and mental weirdness exist as buddists and others teach.

on another point - what about taxes? if i buy bitcoin and send it on lightning network in exchange for a good or service am i taxed on the amount of capitol gains just the same as i would be if i swapped to another currency? i suppose crypto tax software figures that out for you.

good luck. if i was a wealthy canadian like yourself id have a plan b or c just in case. nomad capitol seems promising for researching strategies abroad. ive thought even if someone wanted to go abroad for a whole election cycle it would be a nice option.

thanks Jeff. i discovered you and am considering your insights. check out richard heart and pulsechain, a cheaper, faster EVM L1 etherium fork. It allows earning 13% apr for staking gas token without mining proof of work. I am thinking that decentralization on bitcoin layers and on pulsechain EVM are both possible so i will work with both. bitcoin has the first mover advantage of adoption and network scale, but pulsechain has the technological advantage of proof of stake, immutible code, and L1 usability. I think all decentralized cryptos should ally to provide an alternative to fiat as a capital asset.

powercities flex protocol on the pulsechain etherium EVM fork allows overcollateralized borrowing with virtually no fees so you have no yearly interest charge, no finance charge on your debt and so is not merely crypto lending but defi. Bitcoin is promising but pulsechain may be the only defi native L1 in history at this point in time.

dating apps are mostly geared towards hypergamy with all the women chasing 5% of the top men. read the book of pook and the teachings of doc love and casey zander. may the force be with you.

yes, but the government is actually much worse. the farmer uses cattle to his benefit. the state abuses everyone to the destruction of thier own civilization.

man i invest in hex on pulsechain and bitcoin is leasing the pack but hex is doing 5-14xs better in price appreciation. the liquidity is so low its going to crush bitcoin as investment this cycle and fully decentralized, time based mining requiring no hardware. 20%+ apr feasible.

and greece in ruins the last 2400 years. democracy is a failed system.

i am looking into anarcho capitalist and christopher cooks the distributed nation.

there is no beaureaucrat i trust as they are all bought with dirty money and possess an evil self serving nature.

selfless men will never rise to power in any competitive system.

trust in individual rights is correct because it reduces the fault domain size down to the indvidual while increasing responsibility and incentive according to the natural law.

greeks are good but weve advanced far beyond them in anglo saxon common law and self governing communities

i think code qualifies as first amendment under freedom of association
