Im going to tell you how I handle women in my life regarding a sour mood after rough day.

First, I try to assess whether they are venting (wanting me to listen)

-or-

Are they asking for advice.

β€”As a man, I tend to try and fix things. I have found that when women bitch, they usually just want to bitch.

Great viewpoint. I need to get better at this too.

It’s not about the nail

The struggle I have is that I don't want to reinforce any limiting beliefs they might have.

Often they're wanting to play the victim/judge & I feel like they're wanting me to affirm this.

I find it very difficult to lie even to make someone feel better.

The other challenge I have is simply following along with their story. It's like women speak another language sometimes.

Knowing that we just want to bitch most of the time would save a lot of time πŸ˜‚

i don’t think my wife has ever asked for advice.

it’s always venting πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

if it’s a problem i can solve, i just take care of it, no need in telling her what the solution is.

skip the middle man 🀣

β€œDo you want me to help you or just hold you?”

9 out of ten times I would just want to be held/listened to.

Sound too easy when you put it like that. Haha

The one big takeaway that I got from reading "Men are Mars, women are from Venus" was exactly this dynamic.

Women like to be able to share their worries without necessarily wanting a solution.

Men on the other hand, immediately put on the Mr. Fixit hat and go about seeking and offering a solution to the problem.

Wisdom you now have.
