Wild where car manufacturing technology is going. They basically 3d print and have llms tell them exactly how much material is needed for maximum efficiency.

This is bonkers and I like it.

Hard to believe we have this tech

It's very interesting to find a unique engine layout in this car. A V8 with the tiniest displacement at 2.88l. Last seen in a GT40 in the 60s. I have so many questions and my mind is blown.

They had to get really creative with the one and one design, didn't leave a lot of room πŸ˜…

Holy shit that's wild

Im like.. you can't lose ONE GRAM without compromising the part?? Its so hyper specialized..no room for error

i don't think that's how the engineering works ... there's usually some margin of error, and people did this by hand... the uniqueness is that they can give you the same strength as before with parts that look like this

so same strength but much less material needed since they don't need all the filler material

Yeah looks like some freaking ocean Coral

I'll never own anything like this but excited since normal cars tend to get some of the hyper car stuff after a few years

Yeah I guess eventually the tech will be widespread enough and open source will be doing the same kind of thing and it can just make that kind of Technology available to Everyday People cars

Using additive printing to reduce curb weight could improve mileage

Yes and with heavy regulations cars have gotten fat and heavy, if we can reverse some of that cars will also drive better

Impressive
