Reminder: Calling "NIP-05 ID" anything but "Nostr address" is just going to confuse the masses with technical jargon. We can do better. 🫂

99% of the time NIP-05 doesn't verify anything because they're being handed out like candy. It only works if it's tied to a domain associated with the user.
Which is why I don't call it verification and no one should. It's verification of web server configuration.

Email has been around for 50 years. People know that term already.
“Handle” is slang for nickname and has been around for over 100 years 
no one asks for an email handle 🤣 they ask for email address or just say what's your email, dropping the address entirely because we know what the person means. they same will happen with lightning and nostr, given enough time.
npubs are hard to read out over the phone. QR Codes will become even more prevalent, but I feel like there needs to be something else. Something more resistant to human error.
I just think “address” sounds boring and too formal, handle adds flare!

If someone says nostr address I immediately think of a pubkey, same as a Bitcoin address is basically a pubkey.
