💯 I have no antagonism towards non-vegetarians; I just think killing is ugly. It is a very unaesthetic process, and especially unnecessary when not faced with a survival situation. But either way, the animal should be respected and not wasted.

I thought you ate chicken feet hahaha
I have eaten them before, and they are delicious. Moxie eats them, and I prepare them for her. Cats are obligate carnivores, so they cannot be vegetarians.
that is interesting, does she gnaw on it, like a dog chews on a bone?
No, I chop them up for her into bite-sized pieces so she won't drag raw chicken all over the floor. Chicken necks have soft, edible bones, and they are great sources of calcium for cats. They also help keep their teeth clean.
They should not be given to cats who have never eaten them before without supervision, and they should never be cooked since this causes the bones to splinter; eating cooked chicken bones can harm or kill them.
Oh that is interesting. Fun fact of the day, besides the lemon one from earlier.
and to be honest, I am kind of over this keto thing. Its been a year, meat eating, and it doesn't feel great to me. Been pigging out the last couple of days on junk. But nothing taste good to me anymore, like I don't know. The only thing that I am happy with is this chicken dish I prepare, but then I still think about the veganism. Kind of this internal war I am having with myself.
As a former vegan/vegetarian of over a decade, I completely understand the struggle. After briefly returning to meat-eating, I decided it was time to return to a vegetarian diet, though I am currently still eating fish.
I could easily eat fish for every meal. Salmon or Rainbow Trout.
I love shrimp and scallops.
I could live the flexitarian/pescatarian version. I was vegan for about seven years. I was super tired of eating the same meals; I was stuck in a routine, and now, I do the same with this keto diet.
💯 Gotta keep it fresh, whatever it is. I love making fresh veggie juice (and some with fruit) with my commercial-grade juicer. I had to sell my last one since it was an Aussie model, but I am buying another very soon. It can even do nut milks!
I am also getting more into dehydrating fruits and vegetables. They make great, healthy snacks when eaten in moderation.
Joe Cross (of "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead" fame) has some wonderful recipes for multiple durations of juice-only reboots (fasts). They are super healthy and very delicious.
I do at least a 60-day juice-only reboot every year and one to two 30-day reboots after. I don't believe it will keep any lost weight off; that takes conditioning of new habits and reevaluating one's relationship with food, but they are great for mind, body, and spirit.
Hi Ava, thank you for posting this comment. I was vegetarian for a while, more recently vegan, but now I'm in the in between phase (eating mostly vegan meals but I will eat a piece of chicken or beef). I haven't seen a lot of vegans/vegetarians open about their experience switching between diets, even though that's a reality for many people. I'm hoping to get back to a vegan diet very soon since I felt my best on that diet so far ♥️
Of course. Thank you. I understand that place well. I think many are afraid they will lose their "street cred" or their identity as this or that if they talk about it openly. For those reasons and more, I think it's important to do so. 🫂💜
