im willing to give it a shot, the state of mining is the scariest part of bitcoin threat vectors imo. Need to do something to progress stratum v2 into the mainstream so my miners are pointed to Ocean for the time being

there is a faq on their main page that outlines some differentiating points as well as planned things in the future. None of it seems to be open source yet so you are taking their word for it at this point.
