The intention in there somewhere was to avoid having bots swarming the polls to influence it. The result is that you just need more sats to steal the vote.

It’s not an easy problem to solve. How to run a vote (poll) in an anonymous protocol keeping it fair and balanced? Limiting to one vote per npub does not stop the bots.

Maybe if the poll poster could specify the price of voting (thus excluding anyone who cannot or does not want to afford it). Then every voter only has the option of zapping that amount, one vote per npub.

It might be well intended, but clearly the current way isn't working.

Some will make the argument of developing new features and testing it.

Ok, it's tested this way, it isn't working, remove the function and send everyone, that spent sats on these polls, their sats back. They can find them at their notification button.

I'm challenging them to do this.

With decentralized development, who is them? NIPs do not have to be supported by all clients.

Them is who that have posted these kind of polls.

You’d want them to refund people who zapped their polls? Personal responsibility on the side of the plebs zapping polls I’d say. Something exists, my choice to participate or not.

My point is, as I wrote in my original post, that it's only used as a moneygrab. By giving those sats back to the participants, they have an option to disprove my argument. 😉
