Reflect and understand that we are all NPCs in something. We cannot be fully aware of everything, fully questioning and knowledgeable. We are human.
They will have knowledge in something that you don't care so much about and refuse to take an interest in, while they may think it is super important to understand.
We are all geniuses in some things and dumb asses in other things. We evolve by working together.

No body has ONLY enough time to think about paying the next bill, but some will focus on enriching their happiness, culture, art, sports.
Sometimes they get smart at useless stuff like getting likes on twitter, or maybe it's money making like getting good at taking pictures for only fans.
Whatever it is, they are invested in that and it is only when your topics creep into their realities or interests that they'll entertain you.
I'll concede that I'm a NPC in some aspect of my life

In their eyes they listen to the elected officials, qualified journalists, scientists, while we listen to Joe rogan and whacky youtubers. You have to really distrust our entire system to see our perspective.
