I know this kind of stressful experience. I had a wallet that showed 0 balance suddenly due to defaut derivation changed and a bug preventing to change the derivation path back. I rapidely understood that nothing was lost but still had to wait weeks to recover.

node was taken down and when opening the app it showed 0 sats. friend didn't write down the passphrase and kind of gave up on ever recovering. after some time he tried again and randomly entered a phrase that was the correct one. not fun
