depends what kind of family man and friend you are I suppose.
I guess this is why people say "choose your friends wisely, because if one of them is better than you at something that becomes important later on he might be totally fine with you suffering and telling you 'told ya so' "
Sure, but that is not the scenario being described in the OP.
These are people that have been told and warned for years. I'm beyond pity for any of them except my closest relatives, and even then, I have other people closer to me that I would do more for than the family I've got that has turned their back on me.
this is not the stuff of antifragile communities and families. sometimes you need to drag the "dead weight" along with you, kicking and screaming - especially if you love them - so that they might finally wake up.
