nostr:npub1hw6amg8p24ne08c9gdq8hhpqx0t0pwanpae9z25crn7m9uy7yarse465gr just rugpulled the DNS / website central planners.

In this 40 second demo, Arjen shows how a browser recognizes https://npub123etc.nostr address in the URL bar, and proceeds to fetch the website from a relay.

🤯

Video decoding is broken for iOS. Open on desktop (e.g. via iris.to/) works.

This is amazing! Moreover, you can run your own relay and have the whole website running sovereignly.

Only one big issue, nobody is going to rember them. If nostr is used as a DNS registrar it needs to be domains we can claim.

This sounds like a challenge nostr:npub1hw6amg8p24ne08c9gdq8hhpqx0t0pwanpae9z25crn7m9uy7yarse465gr

It can't

They're looking up the IP from relays; the site is hosted separately.

The point of DNS was to not have to remember random numbers but a memorable name. Npubs are not easy to remember.

Agreed.

Looking forward to seeing what Arjen and nostr devs come up with
