Fiat money destroyed the family dream.

Fiat money destroyed the family dream.

I was just reading #[2] recent report projecting us household debt. Its very alarming.
Lyn’s work is pure signal
I hodl and use Bitcoin for my family and their families. Bitcoin is so, so important for all of our futures.
You shouldn’t use a custodian childcare to begin with. Not your care not your kids 😁
Haha this is a good one
Would be interesting to compare this to the change in number of people having a child.
Maybe the number of people having a child is getting lower. 🤷♂️
For sure. I know more and more people who don’t want children anymore
They’re impossible to afford today.
Also, we’re all so separated from family it just seem as attractive.
Destroy my body, hand the baby off to someone else to raise while I head off to the grind?
Make money and give most of it to a caretaker that does a worse job than I do?
Just seems less* attractive
This is such a good statement
And there is so much more pressure to keep up… can’t just be in dance - you have to travel to competitions, can’t just play recreational sports - have to be in club teams. Can’t just get good grades - have to have impeccable extra circulars.
I wish it was easier to step off the hamster wheel, but it is tough to manage your family in this crazy world.
Yeah, this only makes sense from perspective of the state. It can tax your work, work of the people taking care of your child and in some part of the process also shape the minds of the kids.
No downsides for the system really.
On the other hand if you stay at home and take care about everything, there are less taxes and smaller influence (from the state) on forming of the young minds.
Of course not easy.
This is sadly a very accurate description of what most people have to do these days.
Not true.
Yes. People are having less children.
Musk talks about this a lot.
The risk for society isn’t too many people, it’s societal collapse as the population declines.
This is an absolute shocker and well worth the listen. A few takeaways: majority of childlessness due to circumstance not choice; the compounding nature of fertility below replacement rate is not generally understood; we are in deep trouble.
Yeah impending demographic collapse is going to be very bad.
I've been preoccupied with this lately. How can Social Security or pensions work on this model? It's easy for to say bitcoin fixes this, but most people have no bitcoin or any other savings for that matter. They are also not having enough kids to fund Social Security or Pensions. We already have too many homeless people. It's going to be much worse in 20 years. 🫤
Where "overall inflation" is measured in plastic and vegetable oil.
Hahaha so true… cpi is one of the biggest scams
'Inflation' is such a god damn scam. It's not a simple number. It's a vector space. It's every product or service and at every location on earth, different. It's a highly complex thing but they don't really want to measure that. They just want it to say they haven't printed too much money for themselves.
Inflation is a vector 🤝🏼
Destroyed the “American Dream”
is this because the 'average child' nowadays needs an iPad and florescent shoes with some YouTuber's name on 'em?
No arguments there. But to be fair. The needs have also gone up whilst most prices by cost of production have gone down.
In short we think we need all these extra things which have gotten cheaper per unit (think how much a calculator, gps, music player or tv now costs!) but there are just alot more needs.
Fake news.
Can’t speak for other countries, as they have different laws, but in America, the law favors women in divorces, custody, and alimony payments. Children are often regarded as a meal ticket… incentivizing them to abandon the family dynamic and embrace collecting money from men they displace from the process. It’s downright evil.
