Just found out that one of my housemates took over most of the fridge space to himself. Talked to him about it in a nice and firm way. But oh boy I feel like punching the bastard in the face. Depends on many factors. Do you all pay bills or is it all-inclusive? What is household chore distribution like? Is he generally reasonable beyond this? Do you live with more people that may be annoyed by this?
We all pay rent. Household chore distribution? I’m the only one who cares about cleaning the house. I clean it every weekend. He’s usually the kind of person who takes all the spaces for himself and feels like he’s some of authority because he’s the same nationality as the landlords. 😣
How confrontational are you willing to get? A buddy of mine once got pissed with his messy roommate that refused to clean so all his unwashed dishes and his mess started ending up in his bed sheets...
Honestly I am not looking for a fight because if I lose my temper it will be bad so I’m trying to be diplomatic here. But if it doesn’t work I’ll probably move.
I'm not sure if it's the same where you are, but leaving early means those remaining are generally responsible for the lease. Landlords dont care to hunt down someone on the lease when they know where the remaining people love that are responsible.
Or you could avoid being a dick and put up with it until the lease is up. 🤷

He is. The thing is that I don’t want to fight with anyone because I want to live in peace. So I’m trying to talk and solve things nicely,in a diplomatic way. If it doesn’t work, I’ll start being bitch. I have until March 2024 to find a new place.
Perhaps stop cleaning their living areas for a short time. Show them the value of having a clean living space. I'm a neat freak, too. Lol. I get it. It's different with guys, though. We get aggressive with each other. 😅

You did what you needed to do, stand your ground and use the space you have too. Maybe not punching in the face or ball kicking 🤣, but tell them you need the space and then use it. If they take more then move their stuff and claim your space. I’ve had to do this with my roommates many times
