I don't trust Proton personally. I also don't like how an alleged privacy company made users beg for a private payment method (I believe it was the largest request on their forums for years). Mullvad, IVPN, countless other businesses didn't make us beg it was a mutual thing. Found their excuses on Seths podcast pretty weak as well. But cool for others to have the option I suppose.

i certainly won't be using their VPN.

But it didn't seem odd to me that they didn't care about supporting monero payment, they're a big normie-facing company. Mullvad and Ivpn and everyone who takes Monero is not.

It does seem weird to me that suddenly, with only 1000 signatures, they're willing to add it in. 1000 signatures on an online petition can't meant much to them.

Feels off that a privacy centric company was being asked for years to add Monero, one of the top requests from their users since 2018, and they kept dismissing and ignoring it (but they accept Bitcoin). I think it has more to do with BTC maxi ideology. Pretty evident from their Twitter posts and interview with Seth. For the cherry on top they're making them do tricks for it with this signature thing. Just rubs me the wrong way.
