Does anyone have recommendations on coffee machines that aren't crazy expensive?

You don't need a complicated machine to perform a simple process for an at home scale. Get a drip cup and a good grinder

And more sats

Get a Moka pot from IKEA for the cheapest and yet most satisfying experience. But know that those expensive machines do pay you back over time in the amount of into you save on expensive coffee.

Moka is a great option on a budget. You can make a good quality espresso with one and it will only set you back like $30

Kurig machine from Wal-Mart $30 or so

Depends on what you drink and what you’re willing to spend. What do you like drinking? What’s the highest you’re willing to spend?

I don't know what I like to drink honestly, I don't know much about coffee, I've had it before but I don't really know the differences

My wife likes lattes and I like a good, creamy espresso so when we got married we bought the Breville espresso maker with the grinder on top. It’s around $600 but has lasted us 6+ years (with regular cleaning).

For low cost drip coffee, a pour-over that takes a filter is easy and really inexpensive.

For espresso you could get an espresso machine pretty cheap that won’t have a milk steamer. But you can also get a Moka and make an espresso on the stove.

Yeah, it's called a Freedom (French) Press.
