My boss just confidently told a client, that i could drive four hours away, and fix a product that I’ve never seen, written in a programming language I’ve never used (pascal for the curious) running on an OS I’ve never done support for, in TWO DAYS.
At this point I don’t know whether to feel complimented or cry.

He owns the business. So you’re probably right on both counts. He will give himself a promotion, and I’ll be a liability at eval time.
