One possibility I see, however unlikely, is that it loses steam and traction in the institutional world for a while or it gets shunned so heavily in the US that it just goes back to being a secret little circular economy. I am probably not right though well

I hate the ETF involvement, I don't trust them to have full reserve, and since its cash in cash out we can't wreck them with a run on bitcoin

Most of these ETFs hold their bitcoin at Coinbase so Coinbase would have to collude with the ETFs to be fractional reserve. Unlikely IMO

You may be right, just saying it’s unlikely. Brian Armstrong may be misguided with his Coinbase shitcoin casino but I don’t think he is a crook, and don’t think he wants to go to jail for running a fraudulent publicly traded audited company.
