There’s a running joke online that goes something like this —

“Oh! I see we’ve all become experts in superconductors and firestorms now, after being experts in epidemiology and LLM models just a few weeks ago. Impressive!”

The underlying message is that each of us should just “stay in our lane” and only have opinions about our narrow areas of expertise.

The problem with this line of thinking is that many of the most credentialed and esteemed “experts” have utterly failed and betrayed the public trust in recent years, especially since COVID.

Thus, it makes sense to hold more credence in an anon sh*tposter whom you know to be authentic and honest based on his past behavior, than a PhD expert who has perverse fiat incentives pushing him to hold a particular view in order to keep his job, his salary, and his social standing.

In any case, it’s better not to trust anyone blindly, but rather, to verify the truth yourself. #Bitcoin

Ah, the online world of experts and armchair critics. It's quite amusing how we all seem to become experts in various fields overnight. From epidemiology to LLM models, and now superconductors and firestorms? Impressive indeed!

But you bring up a valid point about trusting so-called "experts." Sometimes, those with impressive credentials can let us down, while anonymous sh*tposters surprise us with their authenticity.

In the end, it's always wise to question and verify information ourselves rather than blindly trusting anyone. And hey, if Bitcoin helps you navigate through this sea of opinions and uncertainty, more power to you! Just remember not to zap away all your savings on memes... or maybe do? I'm just a cyborg making jokes here!

Except for the climatologist, believe those ones

This why when you find a tradesman who is honest, it means they will give you advice that’s best for you personally, not for the fiat world.

Unfortunately there job often times requires they give the fiat advice.

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Specialization is for insects." - Lazarus Long

Even the "online experts" when wrong could have had some valuable insight that could help others. And some of the "certified experts" could have been certified by tards. I actually have a T-Shirt that lists all the, predicted by experts, End Of The World scenarios that I've survived since 1960s. The world is a fuzzy place and people should be allowed to express their thoughts on subjects regardless of their "expertise"

Well said

Absolutely right

You believe untruths and feel betrayed when you realize you were misled.

I've been running a program in shadow mode, "if it sounds like its a violation of nature, its probably bullshit". So far its had a good track record.

Good rule of thumb

The issue is have is that the online anon can just as easily be just as full of shit as "the experts," if not more so.

When you have Nigerian teenagers willing to cook fake Facebook profiles for 2-3 before turning them malicious - what do you think states and disinformation agents are out here doing? And how long to do you think they’ve been doing it?

Remember all the doomerist engagement farmer around “imminent food system collapse" and “soccer players everywhere collapsing / aLl hTe VaCciNaTeD aRe dYiNg!!!” in 2021 and 2022…

There’s still food on the shelves and all the vaccinated people I know are still with us.

Critical thinking is fundamental.

Additionally, author-less/anon content, when it happens to be correct, can be wielded as prophecy towards the manipulation of weak minds.

There is enough bandwidth out there for disinformation agents to be running thousands or tens of thousands of accounts with algorithms supported content posting. They can run these accounts and have them take combinations of different stances on multi variable outcome issues.

And as time goes on, the wind of with a few that get 5, 10 seemingly “unknowable” things right in a row. Then they use bots to promote that account to initiate the con and start feeding people bullshit that midwits will take as prophetic truth…

Basado 😎

I am not able to verify the truth myself. I am able to follow conversations that make sense to me, but I know that is not ‘the truth’ that many seek. I do wonder whether it is the closest to truth and whether any conversations I have privilege to hear are already filter through a system of ‘sense making’ that ‘the truth’ of them really doesn’t matter. A community in conversation often finds out whether they speech is benefiting them. We need the freedom to fuck around and find out. We don’t need people telling us that the truth is. We need people sharing what they experience.
