Couldn’t agree more as we homeschool our 3 kids as well!
Discussion
1) They get the real deal 24 hours a day education from you already
2) there’s no hidden agenda
3) you get to go on as many field trips as you want
4) there always food (and coffee) involved
5) when you find something you never learned, or learned inadequately, you can just re-learn with them!
6) when they complain (and they do) you can always show them how miserable their peers are at the government school (creative license may be necessary)
7) if desired they can usually get college credit for some classes they take in higher “grade” levels.
But it doesn’t have to be hard. Go easy on yourself at first, til you get the hang of it. If you can’t get the hang of it find some folks that make sense and learn from their successes.
We were horrible at first. Thought we were messing up our kids permanently. We were wrong. The one we have left to finish up is doing well.
