Big fan of Breez so far
Easiest option for non-custodial: Phoenix.
Trade-offs are that there's no privacy advantage vs. custodial, but it's much easier than managing your own liquidity etc.
Using ZEUS (non-custodial) in connection with Alby's lndhub (custodial) for a Lightning address as I'm not running my own node yet.
I have just started to run a ln node. Not completely self hosted on my own hardware but using voltage cloud. Fairly simple set up and I am currently experimenting with Zeus and later this afternoon phoenix to see which wallets I think will suit what I'm doing (also connect getalby). Probo end up using both! Muun (marginally lightning), Breez, Blue( now out), WoS, getalby, Zeus and Phoenix. Keeping it simple!....🤣
Sounds good! But yeah, some geeky tinkering with lots of apps is still needed. Will also look at Phoenix at some point and follow the development in the space which is moving faaast.
And Voltage, yeah!
Yea, voltage run a $10 credit to set up the node. Think it's a 7 day free trial and they also have a, I think 500,000 sat, free channel that can be opened from the start. It's just a matter of getting stuck in and not being intimidated by learning needed. I plan to play around with that set up and if it works nicely will likely keep going with it. Ultimate goal is my own ln node hardware but I'm not settled in a place as of now so a virtual cloud host was next best option. Give me a shout if you go for voltage and have any questions.
