This is what I did.
I set up a Mewe account for those who wanted to keep a connection. Its facebook-ish enough for them to be ok with it. About 50 of all of those people did it. Which is fine:)

i hear ya. in my experience, asking friends and family to leave fb just to communicate with you is a big ask. mewe is dead in the water. they will be disappointed. i suggest asking them to join a group chat room like simplex or just keeping in touch via a group chat via signal, both boomer friendly imo, especially signal. this way they can take baby steps, and you can lead the way

I'm out of state so I will have to go visit and physically install the app on their phones....
