yes. i pulled the plug long ago. imo housing groups and marketplace are all they have going for them rn. i.e. not enough. even when you close your account they force you to wait 30 days before it is actually deleted, so backup if you want and don't log back in or you will have to start the process all over. so underhanded

This is what I did.
I set up a Mewe account for those who wanted to keep a connection. Its facebook-ish enough for them to be ok with it. About 50 of all of those people did it. Which is fine:)

i hear ya. in my experience, asking friends and family to leave fb just to communicate with you is a big ask. mewe is dead in the water. they will be disappointed. i suggest asking them to join a group chat room like simplex or just keeping in touch via a group chat via signal, both boomer friendly imo, especially signal. this way they can take baby steps, and you can lead the way
