Do you agree with Rockstar or do you see a tradeoff?

Great question, and that’s exactly the point Rockstar challenges.

If something can be both anonymous and unstoppable, is the tradeoff really necessary? Would love to hear how you see it.

How do you censor something you can’t identify?

Censorship requires a 🎯.

I’m not a tech person at all, and I might be totally off here, but I feel like even a centralized platform can censor an account it can’t identify.

For me, the real challenge isn’t whether censorship is possible without identity… it’s whether we’re actually building with that principle in mind.

Centralization can censor because it can “identify” both actors and content. Being able to identify some target is key to censorship.

That makes sense. It’s interesting to think about how much of censorship comes down to visibility and traceability, not just identity.
