Moved to a new town and started going to a new gym. I've started writing my own programming to save some money and because I feel comfortable doing so.

If it goes well and I get good results, I'll share my 3-month program for free. If not, I'll share what I feel I did wrong and adjust moving forward.

I'm not a certified personal trainer or coach, but I have been lifting weights for 13 years and doing CrossFit for 10 years, and was also a highly competitive karate athlete for 15 years.

Program consists of mixed modalities: Wendler-style strength building lifts, complimentary bodybuilding exercises, CrossFit-style Metcons and constantly varied skill work ranging from Olympic lifting to gymnastics movements. Limited only by available equipment in the gym.

Snatches today were feeling a little rusty, but feeling good overall. Can't wait to really get into it 💪

Am I reading this correctly that you went from 170 to 200 in a year? If so, that’s wild and congrats. I’m a CrossFitter in the 175-180 range too. Curious what kind of impact that weight gain had on strength, gymnastics, etc.

Yep, I've been at 175-185lbs for years and decided I want to bulk up yo break 200 for the first time in my life. Definitely gained strength, gymnastics stuff hasn't been affected too much, but I have felt slight drawback in cardio. Not terrible though, 2024 was the first time I've ever been able to do full Rx Murph. 2023 I did half Rx and took the vest off for the second half

Awesome to gain 30 lbs and only add 3 pts of body fat. You clearly did it in a controlled and methodical way.

I tried to gain this year and had the same goal of about 200, but ran into my first ever knee injury about 2 months ago. Not sure if weight was a factor, but was doing cycle heavy on front squat and BBJO volume. Been rehabbing the last two months and dropping back to 175 to help the knee.

Thanks! I've been lucky not to have any injuries - ever. Knee injuries are definitely a major setback

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!
