A new pup!

I've been having such a difficult time getting this cacti enough nitrogen. It keeps growing so much, so fast, that it's frequently "yellowish". Finally, I made a five gallon mixture of fish emulsion, and fed it 1000 ml every few hours for a couple of days.

The color is starting to come back, and today I noticed a new pup on the column where a pup had stalled out before! Today the cacti got a dose of lactobacillus, and this pot was dosed with a lump of fish emulsion mixed into the top layer before watering. I'm determined to get this cactus green again!

San Pedro?

It depends on who you ask. Some people refer to the genus of Trichocereus as "San Pedro", while others refer to a specific variety of Trichocereus as "San Pedro".

This one does contain the alkaloids that people use for altered states. The name of this variety is "Fire", and most likely related to the bridgesii species.

They are beautiful. I had a huge Night blooming (Cereus?) in Phoenix. It was stunning and the fruits were quite sweet as well.
