Morningโ๐. I quit buying new machines a few yrs ago. I just buy used Lenovo Thinkpads, wipe Windows off, and install Linux. I get a "new" laptop for $200-300 usd.

Just did this too, can recommend. Price wise you can't beat it. Amazon has a ton of them.
I got a dud on my first go (bad screen). Sent it back and got a machine that is like new!
Iโll do that ๐ had totally forgotten about Amazon
Yeah in Canada its like Apple - always good but pricey and Apple being Apple. Or Best Buy/Staples if you want a sub-tier HP or Asus.
That's why I finally caved and got the used ThinkPad. Top of the line but from 2020. Works for my needs at least!
BestBuy and Staples are trustworthy? Do you think getting something refurbished is a good deal?
