Any network can be used as a dating site if one has balls to do it. Though I prefer in person meets. I never use dating apps nor would I use nostr to do so.
Besides the whole happening in public on social media, I mean you can assume you may have something in common, and get a chance to interact with them, so if they happen to be local what's the worst that could happen. No reason to shut the door on opportunity.

So many people have said this, and I think it could be a great ideaβ¦ but like a lot of Nostr things I really think it will not work so great at first and people would have to be really patient with it. On top of the standard Nostr βdevs are working on this for freeβ need for patience, our population is still so low right now (even lower when you weed out married / uninterested people) I doubt there would be many successful matches for a while.
I totally understand and itβs definitely low on the priority list. Perhaps Iβm just an optimist about everything, but maybe the smaller pool would increase the quality LOL

A few people have asked me out on nostr. I havenβt ever asked anyone out here. I just assume everyone is married here tbh. π
My husband and I met through a Christian singles facebook group. We got to know enough about each other through comments on posts that he DMd me and asked for a Skype coffee date, as I was 8 times zones away in a different country at the time.
I don't see why Nostr can't be used in a similar way.
We all have bio's. Mine says wife, but how about all the singles who are open to Nostr dates put that there?
Though the relays messing with DMs might be an issue, so it might need to be on a public post too, to make sure the message gets through. The one sided blocking/mute might cause an issue, if someone's previously been blocked.
A Nostr singles meetup might be another option π€
Being married is the best, so people finding someone who fits them really well is something I wish for everyone!!!
