Is this supposed to be a gotcha moment? The coinbase field is reserved for few bytes of data to create extra entropy, so it’s up to the miner that _successfully_ mined a block to decide what to put in this field. It’s the exact same thing Satoshi did when he put the Chancellor headline in the genesis block. Or do you claim Satoshi was abusing Bitcoin, then contradicting himself?
