Have you built a hardware wallet before? Not a troll, genuinely curious.
Not as a full-timer, but I’ve helped several hardware wallets in the design stage and have built Bitcoin wallets (and basically every other kind of Bitcoin protocol) over the past ~14 years.

Yea, I mean it’s not like anti-exfil is perfect it doesn’t have UX challenges in some specific use cases, would be great to have someone who doesn’t use it on, eg the Jade folks only use it when plugged in, not in air gapped mode.

I respect the hell out of both you and nostr:npub1az9xj85cmxv8e9j9y80lvqp97crsqdu2fpu3srwthd99qfu9qsgstam8y8 , and have learned a great deal from you both. I’ve always appreciated the two of you a great deal because I think you are both ruthlessly realistic while always remaining optimistic.
I think I’m probably in the same camp as a lot of less technical Bitcoiners where I don’t fully understand the finer details of HWW/signing devices that you guys debate, and would love to learn more. I can promise I will ask MANY dumb questions, but questions that I’m sure many others have.
I would offer to have you both on at once to discuss this together, but I do not know if I am capable of moderating that spicy of a discussion…

NO ONE will use this attack vector, if there are better options. If you infiltrate the supply chain you wouldn't try to compromise the signing algorithm, you would directly go to i.e. seed creation. There will never be 100% security and fixing this issue won't change anything, because you open up new attack vectors... I don't understand why you are so focused on this and what you try to prove here...
