Yep. The only thing I might need a lawn for is hill erosion (or greening a driveway etc), but there are better ways of preventing hill erosion by using ground covers like strawberries, pineapples or other plants that creep out and provide us with something useful.

You know grass is extremely important for biodiversity right?

Having only one species in your yard is not biodiversity.

Just because the lawn is monocrop doesn't mean your bushes, flowers, trees, birds, bees, other bugs don't thrive on that environment. If not maintained, all you will have are invasive insects and weeds.

Just look at the soil in an unmaintained yard vs one with a good lawn. Good soil brings biodiversity.

You've yet to explain your position.
