You assume I don’t know any of them maybe? I already have knowledge in HTML, CSS, JS/TypeScript, PHP and Python 🐍… I was going to dive into rust, but decided to go for C++ instead

He advised to go straight to learning C++ directly from the Bitcoin code. Makes sense tbh.
If it makes sense to you, that's all that matters!
I tossed my c++ book after two weeks of learning (books, I know, I'm that old). That language is an artifact from a bygone era.
It was just not for me.

Why did you toss your book? Interested to know your perspective
The mental gymnastics required to do seemingly mundane stuff put me off. I like a mental challenge, but I dislike boilerplate. It's 2025, unless you are working on a heavily constraint device, why on earth would you leave memory management to a human?
All (Ok, nearly all) security vulnerabilities stem from unsafe languages like C++. There's just no need for it nowadays.
