The right lane has become the new passing lane in the United States. Mostly because everyone thinks they are going faster than they really are me tally and physically, hugging the lefthand lane.

Florida is the worst I the southeast US

And there's me sittin' in the left lane, 10mph over the speed limit, tossing nickles out the sunroof at people who tailgate.

It's so shocking to me every time I visit, when I'm driving. Absolutely no fucking one keeps the correct lane based on speed and route. It's China - level bad driving all around.

Contrary to myth though, Southern Florida is not worse than say New Jersey or Los Angeles or Chicago, to mention the three places other than Miami I drive most often when I'm there (mostly NJ). If I had to pick one where drivers are marginally more terrible it would in fact be Los Angeles.

Also contrary to myth I've never found Manhattan to be daunting, but I'm from a Mediterranean capital so there's that.

You're right about LA. When I lived in Santa Barbara people would come to a stand still on the 101 for no good reason.

I was one of those people screaming, "JUST GOOOOO!!!"

It’s the same here in Canada. In North America, a lot of drivers just don’t seem to know how to drive on the highway. I really enjoyed driving in Europe, cruising at 150 km/h in the middle lane while faster cars flew past me like I was standing still. Over there, the left lane for passing actually works the way it’s supposed to. I think a lot of the aggressive driving we see here stems from people blocking the fast lane, which frustrates everyone else.

Oh dude don't get me started about Toronto.
