Not on my Twitter… only the static address

yeah, also didn’t see any mention of this in their docs and have never encountered it in the wild, so inclined to call bullshit

Perhaps there is a gap in my understanding then. I created a new Lightning wallet in Blue Wallet. Went to manage funds -> copied the address. Added it Twitter for tips. So yes, static address - but are payments to this wallet not Lightning payments?

That’s bitcoin indeed. In bluewallet opening a new wallet you can choose 3 types, bitcoin, lightning and vault (multisig bitcoin). There is a color difference between a bitcoin and a lightning wallet so it’s easy to recognize.

You can’t put this address in Twitter. Won’t work.

But I did. And the tip button shows on my profile. So when people make payments to that address, is it not Lightning? And if so, how would the Sats end up in my Lightning wallet? Sorry, I'm not being argumentative, just genuinely confused and trying to learn :)

in the video you posted, that’s an on-chain bitcoin address, not lightning. twitter does allow this, even though it’s a horrible idea. posting a static address for tip jars is terrible for privacy as anyone can look up the address from your profile and see how many times and how much you’ve been tipped

It’s an on chain address to refill the Lightning wallet…

Ah, got it. Thanks.

Thank you for clarifying. Learn something new every day! UI could also make this clearer. Switched to Wallet of Satoshi and added actual LN address to Nostr 👊

Enjoy the zap ⚡️
