Are people actually reading articles that are written and posted online? I recall a time where if you found a mistake in a newspaper you write in to tell them. Now your average wall street journal article has a spelling error in the first three scentences and no one gives a single fuck.
Is anyone reading them to even notice?
The art of writing good headlines is a thing of the past too.
I wonder if half of them are a strategy where they write such a dumb, incoherent headline, so the reader will have to read the piece just to grasp what the fuck they were talking about
Yes, the "click bait" mentality is part of the reason.
Another reason is that many attempt to cram opinionated adjectives in the headline to sway the reader before they start reading.
