I’ve noticed ski lift lines are one of the few places people act reasonably civilized in a queue. I guess it’s one of the few lines where everybody is actually happy?

I guess it’s because you can see constant, methodical progress by machinery and know you are not being held up by the actions of other people.

Interesting to me is how spinning wheels or flowing dots ( . . . ) never give the same satisfaction for me, since they are indeterminate.
